| | Windows 7 to Windows XP sharing not working I can view the 7 (Ultimate) files on the XP (Home) but not the other way round. When I try to connect it gives me this message: Attachment 20944 I've tried using every username and password I can think of but it won't let me access the XP computer. Notice the writing at the bottom: 'Logon Failure: unknown user name or bad password' Any ideas? |

| | Of course using homegroup would be easier but then you would need 7 on both ends. I do not know XP so well, so I recommend you check this tutorial. Kari |

| | Thanks for trying to help but it didn't help me. When I try to access the XP PC it will ask me for the username and password. I've tried everything I can think of but it won't let me access it. They are in the same workgroup (WORKGROUP) and I did everything on the tutorial. The XP PC can access THE one with Windows 7 with no trouble. Is there any way I can check the sharing options and find out the network password (and username) in XP Home? |

| | Choose the second option, "use another account" the username password you have to enter is what you use to go into the xp machine when you are sitting behind it. |
