Also do you know where i can change my default gateway in win 7 ?

    Thank you
Primary and socondary dns are provided by your ISP. they are usually picked up by the router. Have you tried re-booting the router? to change the config of your router you can type its ip address in your browser. Usually IP is something like (for linksys) 192.168.1.1. if that is your routers ip a logon screen will open and you can examine and or change its settings.

I think we should start however with the basics like you filling in your system specs (they are in userCP) and describing your network setup.

    Hope this helps

it does look like a invalid DNS...
    you go to here...
DNS Addressing - How to Change in Windows 7

it looks from your bridge that your dns for your router is 192.168.1.254...
    can you ping this IP?
if so can you test it with setting the dns with this IP?
if you cannot can you try using Dwarf's suggestion and try to see if OpenDNS can resolve DNS for you....

This is the closed ive come to it working
i did go into setting and followed the how to change dns server and swapped it over to Primary DNS 208.67.222.222

    Secondary DNS 208.67.220.220
it worked for a few seconds then went out
so maybe i have to tweak the 192.168.1.254 ?

I've got a similar issue. I've just upgraded to Windows7, previously everything was fine. Now I can connect through the LAN to everything. However when I connect Wireless I can get on the network but not the internet my error message is 'Cannot communicate with DNS service'. My router is Linksys WAG160N. My adapter is Atheros AR5007 and my laptop is a Compaq CG60-430SA. It took me ages to find the latest driver on the HP site and it made no difference. All the drivers are up to date, the router has been reset and my hair has been pulled out. any other ideas?

    DNS Server Not responding

Did anyone ever get a resolution to this? I have run into this as well. Odd because everything was working fine for weeks. Suddenly my wireless card only connects to the local router, but does not get DNS back. I am sure its not my own router because it happens in multiple locations. (DNS Server not responding). Win7 64bit.

I have recently joined the group with the DNS Server not responding.

My network has 3 desktops and 1 wireless which all work without issue through the router but now it goes off for a while and then back on.

Tried the ipconfig /release and then /renew and some times needed to re-boot. But either cases, the internet is all of a sudden available.

This is happening on both the wired and wireless units of Win7. WinXP unit still is able to connect.

It would seem strange that all of our routers have suddenly gone "off the wall". Has one of the MS updates caused an "intervention" and "messed" with our connections?

    Has anyone resolved this?
