Unable to save Default Gateways in Network Settings!

Hi,
I want to save the Default Gateways in Advance TCP/IP Settings for my network adapter. I used the following sequence to set the values:

1. Open Adapter Settings (LAN Properties).
2. Select IPv4 and click on Properties.
3. Click Advance.
4. In the Popup select to add Default Gateways for both my Wired and Wireless network.
5. Click OK to close all open windows.
6.--TROUBLE STARTS HERE--

When I again open the settings, the changes in Default Gateways are all gone..

The default gateway for both my wired and wireless network are same and both are connected to internet. I want to prefer wired over wireless whenever it is connected.
I already tried changing Interface Metrics with no use at all.
I searched the internet and got the information to select the default gateways with proper metrics.

Please help me out in this!

Is this for when you take your PC to their house or something?

Are they on the same IP Range as your network and Ip Address, i.e. 192.168.0.X

Thanks for replying, yes they are in same IP range.
Sometimes I use to connect to my Wi-Fi router and sometimes used to connect wire to connect to the network. Basically, when I want to boost speed, I use wired network, other times I use to connect to wireless.

When you say wi-fi router do you mean adaptor?

Do their networks not give out DHCP from their router? Can you give a little more infotmation on why are you trying to do this?
