Remote desktop connection - one logs off

I have two computers one laptop one desktop.

Just connected to the laptop via RDC.

The laptop logs off on my laptop, I can view the RDC on my desktop.

Is it possible to stop the laptop from logging off?

The only way of doing this would be to use something like VPN.

The laptop logs off/blackens the screen for security reasons.

you mean rdp remote desktop protocol. is the administrator tool it takes control of the computer and you cant see what is happening. what you can do is remote assistance which is interactive the remoter and the remote e can see the screen and they share the mouse. I just googled rdc which is for a mac to windows connection. the remote assistance is for windows to windows not sure about macs.

With remote assistance you have to accept the remote assistance session on the remote PC. Its not an option if you want to be able to take control of the PC without being prompted.

Please confirm on the RPC as it is for a Mac?

seems you got your letters mixed up check his original post he said RDC.
RDC = remote desktop connection, on a google search it points to a mac to windows connection.
RPC = remote procedure call which is a protocol that one program can use to request a service from a program located in another computer in a network without having to understand network details. I suggested remote assistance to him, his computers dont seem far apart all he would have to do is click once I played around with it on win 7 you can even send a code for the helper to connect might be able to set it up automatic. Another solution is realVNC you just install client on assisted computer matter of fact you can install client on each machine if I remember right you can setup client/server on any machine assisted machine does not have to click anything just have client running. I have not used it in years or tested it on win 7. There is a bunch of remote tools out there. Hope this helps

RealVPN works fine on Windows 7.

Thank you for your condescending explaination on RDP and RDC. Yes, I miss-read as RDP.

    RealVNC link:
RealVNC - VNC® remote control software

If you have trouble with this then try:
TightVNC: VNC-Compatible Free Remote Control / Remote Desktop Software

Im not sure how secure this is (so please ask the others on this thread BEFORE doing this) but i use a patcher called "Concurrent RDP Patcher" and it lets me log in with multiple users on the same client machine.

Even lets me log in with the same user even if im on both machines at the same time.

But as i say - security wise? probablly not the best idea.

Just wanted you to know it's possible.
