Can't network my spare computer - asking for password

I have a spare computer on my workgroup network. My main computer and the "spare" are both using Win 7 Home Prem.

I tried to get into the docs on my spare and it's asking for a password. I tried the one I normally use and it won't except it.

I turned off "Password protected sharing" on the spare and can get into "C" but no further even though I have "shared" other folders in "C".

Can I reset or change my spare computer password? And..I can get into my folders on my main computer from the spare.

It maybe because you are using the incorrect username. By default it will try and use maincomputer\username. This needs to be sparecomputer\username

Hi Dave, thanks for the reply. Tried to "unshare" all of the folders, restarted the computers, clicked on one folder on my main comp that did not disappear after removing the sharing on my spare and voila, I'm seeing and able to accesses the files on "Spare".

Wish I knew what I did but "don't look a....."
