25kbs ?
Ok, i was downloading the new Win7 RC at at least 500+kb
i got up to about 77 percent complete, then the download rate crashed down to 25kb.
i reset my modem.
still running 25kb.
I tried 2 internet sites that "say " they test your internet speed.
both showed that i run around 700kb \ sec download.
but youtube is running amazingly slow, and windows download is still only running 25kb.
do these internet speed test sites actually send data?
if im scoring 700kb \ sec download on these sites,
is that just a generic score i recieve based on my hardware?
or are they actually transfering 700kb sec data ?
I wonder why youtube is running oddly at a crawl pace.
if this site SAYS its transfering 700 kb.

Ok. I tested download rate at fileplanet.com
im downloading at 700kb.
I stop the download.
windows 7
http://wb.dlservice.microsoft.com/do...n7-rc-64/enus/
still will only download at 25kb.
It was downlaoding MUCH faster when it started.
im 80 percent complete, there is 6 hours left .. now.. at this gimped rate.
I should just restart the download?
or wait for the windows server to pick up speed again?
I notice it says "1 connection" on the download details.
If "firewall" was the issue to begin.. i would not have gotten to 77 percent complete in 30 minutes.
How can i fix this?

Are you capped? eg.. downloaded over your monthly quota?
Are you running a separate firewall to the windows one?
Does you Router have an inbuilt firewall?
Have you tried restarting your computer?

Well.
pausing and continuing did not solve the issue.
but after closing foxfire and the java window downloader, and reopening the link
the download rate resumed 700.
This was after a few patient slow Pause / restarts.
Restarting the browser and download resumed at 78 percent 700-800 kb.
Ty.
not a windows firewall, but the firewall that comes with my atnt modem, yes.
But it doesnt seem to hamper p2p type transfers really.
Issue resolved.
