ZakBain,
Would you, please, reveal what driver for USR 5410 has worked for you under Win7? I have the very same wireless pccard which gives me hard time under xp and I heard USR 5410 is not even supported in Vista, not to mention Win7. So any workaround would be appreciated. Thanks
MorphyLive/Simone helped me with my problem. He gave me the driver, so I hosted it on MediaFire: USR5410 Vista e 7 modedd.rar
In order for it to work, you must uninstall and delete any existing driver software, then manually point to the folder where you put the driver.
It should work with WPA, and WPA2
yeah:) it works with wpa2 also...
I went looking for a solution for my USR5410 PCI and ended up here
I downloaded the file on mediafire after a clean Win7 install. No other drivers were tried before this and the device was simply listed as an unkown network device in device manager.
The driver installed perfectly, but I am unable to connect to my router (D-Link Dl-624) with anything other than an unprotected connection.
WEP gets recognized as WEP by Windows, but I am unable to connect. It just attempts the connection and fails... (I ofcourse chose to setup my wifi connection manually, entered the correct SSID and key)
When I set the router to WPA-PSK (no WPA2 unfortunately) and Windows to WPA-Personal, I can't even choose to connect....
Is there anything I'm missing here??
Appreciate any help you can give.
You have to manually point to the driver.
When you press update driver, press Browse my computer for driver software. Then press the browse button and point to the folder where you downloaded Vista e7 modded. Press next and then it will say something to the extent of driver author could not be recognized or something, just press install anyway.
Good luck!
And make sure you uninstall/delete any previous drivers.
This driver are exclusively for USR5410 PCCARD . hope you have this card because in your post you menzioned PCI version.
