How can I delete unwanted network settings?

I've just installed a new draft N wifi router to replace my previous B/G router. Perhaps foolishly, I kept the same name for my home network. My new Acer TravelMate, which has draft N capability, was happy (but slow) on the old system and works OK when I connect it to the new router by ethernet. However when I to connect it via wifi it says "The settings saved on this computer for the network do not match the requirements of the network".

That doesn't greatly surprise me, but I can't find how to clear out the old settings. If I can get rid of them I'm in business. Any ideas anyone?

Thanks. That got me part of the way. The Acer will now see and recognise the network, but it still won't connect. The diagnostics say "Problem found. problem with wireless adaptor or access point.", without saying how that might be fixed. The Adaptor is a Broadcom 802.11n. Its properties say "This device is working properly", so I assume that means the problem is with the access point. There's plenty of signal strength but IPv4 and IPv6Connectivity both report "Not connected" and there's almost no sign of traffic on the router.

The router/modem is connected to the Internet - otherwise I couldn't send this from my ethernet connected desktop PC.

Could this be soemthing to do with the change from WPA in the old network to WPA2 in the new one?

Not sure if this is what your after but open network and sharing center, click on the icon of your current connected network, then at the bottom click merge or delete network locations. From there you can delete any other profiles except the current connected one.

Thanks. That got it. It's now working. This the is first time I've used wireless with Win 7. I got caught out by the semantic differences from XP, with which I'm much more familiar. Just one more step on the learning curve!
