Have you made sure the RPC service's dependencies are running?

    1. Open the start menu.
    2. Right click on My Computer
    3. Click Manage.
    4. Select Service and Applications from the list on the left.
    5. Select Services.
    6. Make sure DCOM Service Process Launcher is running.
    7. Make sure RPC Endpoint Mapper is running.
    8. Right click on Remote Procedure Call and select Properties.
    9. Go to the dependencies tab
    10. Make sure any other services listed in the first box are running.

The other thing to make sure of is that both computers are synced with their clocks.

    1. Click on the clock.
    2. Click Change date and time settings...
    3. Click on the Internet tab.
    4. Click Change settings...
    5. Click Update now
    6. Wait while windows synchronizes the time.
    7. Click OK.
    8. Do the above for both computers that are connecting to each other.
