    Media Streaming Option's , Windows Explorer Crashe's

Ok So im trying to set-up my windows media centre to share media to my xbox but it always says your extender cannot communicate with your Pc .

i then got told to go to media streaming option's in Control Panel - network and sharing - Choose HomeGroup And Sharing Option - Share Media With Devices ... I Cannot Tick Or Untick The Box That says "Stream my pictures, music, and videos to all devices on my home network" ..

So i then Click "Choose media streaming options" , if i try to name my media libary , choose default settings , click allow all ... windows explorer always crashed and restarts .... :/

im using windows 7 home and its a valid copy .... and my windows media centre is a windows feature wich is activated along with windows media player ect ...so i cannot uninstall it and reinstall it to see if thats the problem ... i just dont understand why my explorer keeps on crashing when i try to add a device or name my libary ...if any one could help i would be greatfull ... Thank You In Avance ...

    Need's Help ASAP

If you need pictures of stuff i can screen shot them and then attach them ...

IF any one wants to come on teamviewer and jump onto my pc to see what the problem is feel free to ask ...

and need any more info on my pc ? just ask ...

    Hi Skunner,

Firstly, allowing people to access your computer via teamviewer is definitly not a good idea!

Are you adding the new media library's in Windows Media Player? I found that its simpler to share media and configure streaming options from in here.

About Allowing people to acces my computer via teamviewer , i dont mean a random person , i mean some one that has been on the forums for quiet a while ect and if they started to do somthing dodgy on my pc i would cancel the teamviewer ect ... but lets get on with my Reply

So ... Even when i go into windows media player and click stream my windows explorer crashes , everytime i click on somthing to do with media streaming option's it just crashes i dont get why :/ i never used to have this problem , i used to be able to just access computer files via the xbox without using any type of media sharing .

Problem is i can stream music with PlayOn And Tversity media sharing applications but just not with windows media center and i cant seem to find out why :/

They Must Be Some Problem On The Pc Side But Im Not Sure ... Thanks For The Reply Btw

and the only reason i want to use windows media center is so i can add a internet browser into it and then it allows me to access it via my xbox so basicaly my xbox would have an internet browser :)

im so angry it dosent allow me to do it via media center but they must be a reason for that and i hope some one knowes or could help ect ...

    Thanks

Right click computer and select manage. Go to event viewer and then windows logs. Are there any relivant errors in the Applciation and System event logs relating to sharing or explorer.exe?

Can you temp disable your anti-virus and firewall and try again. This is just to see if they ar blocking it. They need to be re-activated after the test.

    Click start>run and type cmd.
In the black command prompt type: sfc /scannow
This will scan your system files for errors.

Can you also make sure that you have install the latest updates.

Well iv'e got some errors in my Logs Some are for media center but i dont understand what they mean really here are some screen shots :)

And i Opend the medias center logs and took the pictures of what is in the log ( like i said i dont really understand it all) -Next screen shot is the first media center log you see on the list ..

this is the first time iv'e checked this and now you see-ing this must no what the problem is lol have you seen all of them error's and it says "Media Center Extender setup failed as the extender was detected on the network but the UPnp search for the extender failed (timed out after 20000ms).

if you can help me further Thanks ! no point in taking another screen shot of the other log its obviously going to be the same problem .

and about my anti virus iv'e dissabled my virgin media security anti virus and firewall , while turning my windows firewall of and it still has a problem but the event log's must have an answer to my problem :)

Yes i've installed most updates that are needed from windows updates

and my media center and windows media player are in a package with windows featurs if i turn One of it turns them all of untill i activate them again

i open up the other event log for media center extender and it said

"Media center extender setup failed to find the extender on the network (Timed out after 20000ms).

and the dates of these Error's are recently when iv'e tried to add my xbox as an extender .
