Hi there,

I'm using a Netgear WNR3500L router with an external harddrive connected to it, which serves the network with the shares via SMB. I mapped them as network drives X:\ and Y:\ on my Windows 7 Pro x64 and they work fine. Unfortunately, after restarting the computer after hibernation, I get the following error message in every Explorer-window that had one of the drives open at the time of the hibernation:

After clicking OK on every one of them, a simple F5 will show the contents again.

My question is: Why does that happen and more importantly, how do I stop it?

TIA

The router shares the drives all the time since it serves multiple devices.

Disabling hibernation probably works but I don't want to do that because I use it instead of shutting down my PC most of the time. That solution would probably be throwing out the baby with the bath water

When you mapped the network drive, can you pls verify if the Reconnect at Logon box is checked? You may disconnect one network drive then re-map it again.

What is the Make and Model of the NAS?

Another thing that you may try is...disabling the Power Save Mode of the network adapter from Device Manager.

It's a Netgear WNR3500L as said above.

Okay, I'll try that
