RealTek Network Adapter/Controller not being found

Has someone faced the problem of the RealTek Network Adapter/Controller not being found. Yesterday morning my Internet connection went off and when I tried to repair it I got the following message:

The RealTek Network Adapter/Controller was not found. If Deep Sleep Mode enabled Please Plug the Cable

I searched the Net on my other Computer and found chapter and verse on this problem but none of the suggested cures worked and the Net remained off the whole day. Finally in the night in disgust I shut down the errant computer, unplugged all the cables attached to it, and went to sleep.

This morning I attached all the cables and restarted the computer and everything was back to normal again. I have searched this Forum but found no threads on this subject, so this post.

Could someone tell me what to do so that this doesn't happen again. After scouting the Net the only change that I have made is to uncheck the "Allow this Computer to turn off this device to save Power" Box.

I have been having the same problem with Realtek not detected but noticed that when I put the laptop to sleep and wake it up again, the Realtek icon appears.

It has been working for the past few months but during my recent trip away to another country, the network adapter failed. A code 12 error message popped up and I wasn't able to connect to the internet through cable anymore, though my wireless is still working.

Service support from Samsung was requested for twice on the same matter, one during the first encounter and another when the error Code 12 appeared. The first time after noticing that waking up the laptop activated Realtek, I have not visited the manufacturer for the problem as it seems to be working alright after that. Second time though, Samsung tech service deleted Realtek from my laptop and said he couldn't help but advised me to visit their manufacturer.

Now I ended up not having a Realtek on my laptop and can only use wireless network to connect to the internet.

I need help on this as haven't been able to find any useful topic on any forum about how to solve this problem.

I am using Samsung Series 5 laptop.

Welcome to the Seven Forums, PumpkinSeed. For bringing the Realtek Newtwork Adapter out of deep sleep it has been suggested that you pull out the RAM Sticks for about 10 minutes and then put them back again. This should wake up the computer. It has also been suggested that you take out the CMOS battery for about 30 minutes and then plug it in again if pulling out the RAM Sticks does not work. This would surely wake up the computer.

However when the adapter is awake, go to "Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections" and open the Local Area Connection Property Sheet. Then click on the Configure Button and open the Power Management Tab. There uncheck the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power". Once you have done that the Realtek Newtwork Adapter would never go to sleep again.

At least it hasn't for me in the last 10 months.

    Hi wanchoo,

Thanks for the advise but the problem I have now, is that the Samsung Technical guy has deleted my Realtek and I don't know which software to install back to the laptop again.

I am using Samsung NP530 with Windows 7, can you help?

Try downloading the Realtek Network Adapter Driver from Realtek Ethernet Controller Driver for Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit) - Notebook. Many computers use Realtek Network Adapters so there would be no harm done if you download it from a Lenovo site.

I tried reinstalling the Realtek but the following message popped up:

"The Realtek Network Controller was not found. If Deep Sleep Mode is enabled Please Plug the cable"

    What does that mean?

Did you take action as suggested in my first message to you?
