Removed Win 7 2012 Security Virus now Limited Connectivity

My computer is showing no connectivity to the net. Its local only and just says identifying. I can get on with my other computers no problem wirelessly and wired. I checked hours of posts and no fixes so far. Please help!

Just an update, I plugged the ethernet wire in and still just hangs on the part that says identifying. Anyone have this issue and fix it yet? - JT

your lan connection shows as media disconnected , I suggest you are still infected ?

have you run malwarebytes.org in safe mode ?

I did a system restore and now im back online! Weird right? For other users with this issue i did find this answer as well:

Hi Guys, I know this is an old post but this might help someone out some day. I had the same issues with a clients pc. I spent hours trawling the internet with no joy and was a gnats hair from reccomending a reinstall when I found this.
Go to device manager and in view show hidden devices.
Uninstall any devices that are highlighted, this one had DHCP and TCIP marked.
After a restart the problem was solved. It only took a few minutes but many hours to find. You gotta love computers!

that sounds like the infection damaged the protocol needed for DHCP and TCIP negotiation on LAN and Wifi and the reinstall of those devices/drivers fixed it ?
