Wifi Icon in bottom right error

I am running windows 7 starter 32 BIT and i am having a problem with the wifi signalt bars icon at the bottom right of the screen. My internet is wireless and WEP protected. The bars just have an X through them but I am connected to the internet just fine and the computer says it is under the network settings. Its not that big of a deal but i would really like to have those bars light up so i can see my signal strength. Any help would be awesome and I hope i explained correctly. Thanks- Stunmun
