W7 will not save WPA2 passkey

I have used this router for 3 years with the same key on 3 laptops. After ISP outage was sorted at the exchange one laptop ceased to remember the passkey. Others do.

How can I get it to save that key?

Tried suggested solutions in other threads with no solution. Eg., removal wireless network and re-enter it. I cannot remove it; I can disconnect, but how to remove it?

Trying to Add a new W'network lists none present (but I am connected) and after entering new W'network name, etc., I get "Access is Denied".

    Any help appreciated.

I do not know why the Passkey you had already entered should go missing.

Presuming that I have understood your problem correctly - You can enter the passkey each time you want to connect. How to make it remember? - do the following.

Click on the Network Icon in the System Tray. In the dialog box that appears you can see the connections available. Is it not?

Right click on the connection and click on Properties. That will straightaway take you to the Security Tab in the Wireless Network Properties dialog box. There you can enter the Security Key and click on OK. You are done.

This is the same as 1 of the 2 problems I am having. If I right click on my network I get disconnect or status. From the status box I can go to properties but there is no security tab. Again there is no network shown in the managed wireless networks even though I am connected to it. When I try to add it I get the access denied.

@muymalestado - whatever this difficult id means :) - in case you are not getting into the Security tab as mentioned in my previous post, check whether that wireless station is present in the Manage Wireless Network of Network and Sharing Center.

In case it is not, add it. See my post No network shown in managed networks for the screenshots.

Thanks jumanji I tried to add as per other thread. Result "Access is denied". Somehow I need to tell W7 I am an Admin. How to do that?

none of that makes any sense.

first what do you mean when you right click on your network? do you mean the adapter not the "network" or the icon in the taskbar?

@muymalestado, have a look at this thread and try the fixes mentioned therein. ( the last few posts)
