Explorer Browser times out
I purchased my ThinkPad in February 2011. I am running Windows 7 and use Windows Internet Explorer. Earthlink is my provider and I have a Netgear router.
My internet connection is "timing out" and I want to correct my settings so that his will not happen. When this happens, I have to try various approaches to get thinkgs started again. Sometimes I simply have to hit the refresh button but usually, I have to restart Windows Internet Explorer numerous times before my connection is reconnected. The error message indicates that I am not on line but, in most cases, my desktop indicates that I am connected to the internet and my wireless radio is working. Not only is this very annoying, it also interfers with my ability to download an major programs or updates.
I have seen enough postings to know that this is a Windows 7 problem and I'm rally surprised that Microsoft has not clarified the issue.
I am an experienced computer/internet user but I am not familiar with the more advanced settings.
Does anyone know how to solve my problem.
