    Printer IP

How can I find out my Printer IP Address please. I go to cmd/ipconfig but it shows my linksys ip which is 192.168.1.xxx (my computer).
If i go to Start/Devices and printer/add a printer/add a local printer/create a new port(standard tcp/ip port, then what should i put in host name/ip address 192.168.1.xxx (xxx is what i don't know). How can i find out please. Thanks.

Might help if you completed your system specs area and told people what printer it is.

Even if you don't have the manual there are bound to be online resources.

Most WiFi (assumed... ?) printers need initially setting up through USB, you can't set them up for WiFi use using their WiFi interface...

Mine's working fine. HP printer. I help a friend to set up the printer wirelessly. His printer is Epson and the Router is Netgear.I created the printer through tcp/ip port with the ip address 192.168.1.111. I use the netgear configuration tool (admin device). Thanks.

Try netstat -r in a elevated CMD window, but if your printer has problem communicating with other network devices, you may not be able to find IP address of the printer using "netstat" command.

    ip address

I'm currently use a linksys with 192.168.1.1 as a default ip.
I'm trying to install a printer WIRELESSLY. Can I choose any random number for the last 3 digits (192.168.1.xxx)? If the printer chooses the last 3 digits randomly, how do I find out the address please. Your help is so valuable to me.

Try following this: How to Set Up a Wireless Printer Connection (with pictures) - wikiHow
The printer your working on should have a help page to show you how to install it.

When done get the printer's address, by printing out the printer's wireless network test page.

Qdos is right: Replace you with your friends printer specs.

We can help better "if" we knew what we were working with.

    For instance:
On your HP wireless (I surmise, I hate saying assume) you should be able to go to your wireless page on your touchpad or in the software if you do not have a touchpad on your printer, and call up a "Wireless Network Test". On there you will have the answers you seek.

I can do that on my HP B210 AIO.

It's above my head, my friends. I'm trying to set up my daughter's Epson all-in-one printer. I can't make it work. Perhaps, we're going to return it or replace it with the HP one. So far, the one I'm setting up is working. What I did was hook one printer (hp) up with the usb into the modem. I use Netgear cd to setup the ip address 192.168.1.111. My wireless laptop can print. Don't ask me why (lol)rs.. I think I assigned the last 3 digits 111 to my printer which hooks up to the router.
    Cheers.

I know how it can be to get discouraged. I find if you just walk away for a while or overnight the process becomes clearer later on.

I must apologize because earlier you did post that your friends printer was an epson, and you used the pronoun his.
Now your trying to install your daughter's epson. ,maybe that is where my confusion started.

What I understand so far is:
You have a HP on a LAN, and your trying to hook up your daughters to the same LAN through a router? With your friends epson out of the picture.

    Close?
