Connection Error 651

Hi,
Bought a new HP Pavilion dv7-6157cl and when I tried to connect to my wireless Netgear N750 ( WNDR4000 ), I got a Error 651. My Acer laptop connects just fine.
I went to device manager, then to network adapters and the only item listed is Realtek PCIE GBE family controller. No WiFi adapter is listed. I removed the back panel and a Ralink 5390gn 802.11 b/g/n Wifi adapter is installed. I'm thinking the adapter is inop.
Most likely it needs replaced or anyone have another idea ?
I'm not a computer person and I type very slow.

Thanks, Dave

I would suggest you to replace the driver raspppoe.sys in Windows/System32/Drivers directory with a new one.
1. Rename the raspppoe.sys to raspppoe.old or any other name as per your choice.
2. Download the file from Windows File Associationand save it in Windows/System32/Drivers directory.
