Network error; there is a problem accessing

I have a windows 7 or ReadyNAS issue, which i believe I share with many others.

When I cut (or) copy large files from my Windows 7 Ultimate x64 machine to my ReadyNAS the files starts to copy, but after some minutes I'll get a Network Error massage: There is a problem accessing M:\folder\... Make sure you are connected to the network and try again.

I get three choices: Try again, skip or cancel. Try again does not work and the other choices does not copy my files.

I have read through a number of posts without finding a solution. I have tested to disable autotuning and to replace the cable connecting the NAS to the router.

    Suggestions?

...and the same message shows up when copying large files to my media player (is a Popcorn Hour). Is there a know issue between Windows 7 and Linux (both popcorn and ReadyNAS are Linux based)?

It does however works very nice to copy large folders and files from my Windows XP laptop to my NAS and media player. I have tested to connect my Windows 7 PC direct to the NAS (no router), which works nicely, but unfortunately the copying failure of large files and folders remain.

    Any one?

    Thanks for replying
I have a workgroup including one laptop with XP professional, one stationary computer with Windows 7, one media streamer (Popcorn Hour) with Linux (I think), one Netgear ReadyNAS Duo with Linux (I think). These machines are connected uning a Dynalink DNS655 router in a wired set-up . I occasionaly have additional labtops in the wireless intranet.

I have tested to connect the NAS directly to the W7 machine (without router) which is possible with this NAS without crosswired cables. The copying problem remain.

The copying problem is the same for copying large folder/files from the W7 machine to either the media streamer or the NAS, which indicate it is a W7 problem?

Copying large files from my XP laptop to the NAS or media streamer works fine, also indicating a W7 problem?

Just posting if anyone else run into this problem. It turned out that disabling "Automatically update database" from ReadyNAS/Services/Streaming Services/ReadyDLNA tab solved my copying problem. Now I have to find something similar for my Popcorn...

    Thanks for Coming Back

That was really nice of you to come back after two months and share your solution - it certainly helped me.

Edit - Ok, after two days (damn American MM/dd/yyyy format!). Still - it was nice of you ;-)

Nope, when I'm transferring many files to my popcorn, I'll simply plug it in as a USB HDD instead.
Please come back if you are able to locate a solution.

I contacted popcorn's suppot and they said that not all 1Gpbs Switches/Routers are supported so I tried setting the speed to a fixed 100 (in the popcorn's network settings) and it solved the problem.

It is both weird and sad that popcorn's implementation doesn't work with all switches/routers.

    their offical response:
    "
Not every gigabit router/switch is compatible with C-200 and you can refer to compatibility list here http://www.networkedmediatank.com/wiki/index.php/C-200_Compatibility_Lists#Gigabit_Router.2FSwitch for details.
