I Can't access YM and a lot of sites I used to surf

It started all of a sudden.... I was on Yahoo and then I got disconected..... from that moment on I can't use any site related to yahoo (not even webmessenger, or meebo or some other sites)... But that's not all... A lot of sites that I'm used to surf don't want to load at all... It says "Google Chrome (or IE or Mozilla) didn't found the specified website" even if that's a well known site, that I was able to surf for the past 2 years..... And the situation is even stranger.... I can't open those sites on my Samsung Galaxy, or any device who can connect to the internet.... Neither log in on Yahoo apps (on iphone or android)....

Now this may give you a hint about the problem:
- If i use a portable modem (like a Vodafone modem - via mobile) - THEN ALL OF THE ABOVE WORK..(because that disconnects me from my modem and connects me to the mobile conection).. So something's wrong with my modem... I also have a router, but i connected the modem directly to my computer and the situation was the same so it's the modem..... but what's wrong with it....and why all of a sudden.... it's been like 5 hours now since i have this problem...

Try power cycling your modem. Are all the lights blinking as they should? If not you should contact your Internet service provider. As they would be better to assist. If the modem is working fine then your internal network (i.e. router, pc, etc.) would need further trouble shooting. Then we maybe able to help you with that.
As for the portable modem. That's not really a hint for us. That's on a wireless mobile network that has no relation to your ISP. Unless they are both from the same provider. Even then they are on separate networks.

the mobile modem gives you a hint that the problem is not my pc, since it works with it.. and the router does nothing bug spread the info in the entire room, and if i manualy connect to my modem, without the roter same thing as above happens.

Ok I see. So what about the main modem? Did you power cycle? Are all the led indicators blinking as they should. If not then there is not much we can do as the modem setup by the ISP. If it's your own modem then what model is it? Also if you could post your Ipconfig /all output in the command line.

It sounds like a problem with your Internet provider's DNS servers. Contact your ISP's technical support or work around the problem by using a public DNS server.

DNS issue, happens all the goddamned time lately (for me, on Comcast in MA, at least). Usually it sorts itself out after a few minutes or hours. Sometimes powercycling everything fixes it, but that may just be coincidence.

Google runs public DNS servers - you can set your computer to use them instead of your ISP's dns servers if you want. Google services tend to work reliably, which is more than I can say for my ISP's DNS servers.
