Sharing 7 DVD drive with XP machine

    Hello,

Im trying to create a network between two laptops; one has a DVD drive (Windows 7) and the other doesnt (Windows XP), all I want to do is make the DVD drive accessible by the Windows XP machine - youd think it would be easy? Apparently not.
I cant get the two to be on the same network, no matter what I do to the workgroup name or anything; they both have the same workgroup name but nothing is happening, both have all the sharing settings correct (or so I believe) but nothing is happening.
I dont want to share photos, documents, music or even movies - I just want the DVD drive.

Is this possible? If so how? Im getting so frustrated with it.

    Thanks for any help

Don't know whether this information will help, but I'll post the link anyway.

Can the XP machine see the Windows 7 computer? You tried right clicking on the drive in Explorer and selecting Sharing?

Granted it was between my computer and my wife's laptop, both running Windows 7; but it worked no problems.
