Router Static IP

I have a router,from TP-LINK,Model No. TL-WR841N.
What i want to know is simple, how can i get a static ip?
My internet connection requires username/password,what do i need to do to get a static ip?For now i use the PPPoE/Russia PPPoE option.
Edit:I forgot to add that i want the static ip on my main pc,not on the laptop that connects via wireless.

You'll need to ask your ISP for one.

Yes, you can get a static IP from your router by making a IP reservation for the IP in your router. Once you connect to your router and get an IP via dhcp. you can then in most cases go to your router and reserve that IP for your computer.

Also, once you get the ip and such from your router. run Iconfig /all and copy the data from your machines reading and go to network device and change the screenwhere it asks whether you want to use dhcp or static.

pick static and enter the IP that the router assigned you along with the other data. set the gateway to the routers IP.

then when you reboot, it should work fine.

But, if your talking about the IP that your ISP assigns your router, that is a whole new ball game and in most cases costs extra as they don't give them away.

Moonrider, I would recommend that you take a look at the documentation for your router at
http://nl.tp-link.com/resources/soft...1615370511.pdf

It will allow you to get into the routers control panel and then proceed to set up the
IP's for your internal network.
