download folders http: directorys via program

My FTP allows me to access folders as a standard http directory.
I can download files from there. But, obviously I can't directory just download a folder.
Is there any way to download full folders from a http directory similar to a FTP program lets you do this with folders in a FTP?

FTP's transfer rate is a lot slower.

Can I do this using SmartFTP?

My FTP program of choice is Total Commander. I use it to manage my website. Will transfer contents of folders. Never got along well with SmartFTP.
