How to allow users acces to shared folder remotely? Hey guys
I would like to have a friend of mine who lives in a different part of the country, be able to access a shared folder on my pc,how do i go about doing this? I use windows 7 ultimate 64 bit
I have to be able to chose exactly which users would be allowed to the shared folder, and what permissions they have, how do i do this? How can i check the incoming request is my friend, and configure my firewall (Eset smart security 4) to allow traffic?
Do i need to configure my router (Linksys E2000) for this also, if so,how do i do this? My router has ALL wifi settings disabled,as i do not use wifi,so connection will be made wired over the internet
Hope anyone can help me,as i am completly lost as to how i go about this.
Thank you | My System Specs |

Dropbox lets you set one or more shared folders with specific users over the internet. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Built them myself, Science Experiments ! Why would i need a 3rd party program to do this? Isnīt the functionality already in windows 7? I donīt trust 3rd party programs not to snoop in what i am sharing wth who.
Also, i wonīt pay for a program that limits my traffic or amount of data.
What i need is access to ALL my music, movies and photos from my windows 7 JBOD server from anyother pc or networked media player i designate (specific user)
