Can wired network device speak to wireless device ?

Hi

Might be a stoopid question ...

My XBox360 is wired by ethernet into my home network (via Devolo homeplug behind TV).

My music server (Windows 7 netbook) is not wired, but on the wireless network.

Can I get the XBox to "see" the media folders on the netbook (to play music etc.) using this setup or do I have to have both clients on the same wireless network ?

The Xbox automatically disconnects from the wireless network when ethernet is used.

thanks

Are your wireless and wired networks on the same router? In other words how are they connected to each other?

Single router/modem - broadband telephone connection, wifi + wired network run from this (wired via Devolo homeplug).

Yes, they will be able to. Just link your Netbook to your Xbox 360 for Media Center sharing, and everything should go smoothly.

Thanks all

It works now - I think the problem might have been that WMP11 hadn't completed the scan of my 320GB music collection !

320GB? That's some collection.

Thanks for taking time to post your solution.
