I recently upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7 on my work laptop. I am trying to use files "offline" from my server and used to use the Sync Center. These files are not supposed to be access over the internet, so I want to sync the files when I am in the office and then not have any sync (background or foreground) when connected remotely via VPN (only want to use my VPN for email). Is there a way to tell Sync Center to only sync if I am connected directly to the network vs VPN? Or can I manually turn off the synchronizing so files do not sync while I am out of the office? I remember that XP Sync Center had some sort of option dealing with connected to network directly vs VPN but cannot figure it out in Windows 7.
For example, when I am in the office I wast Sync Center to actively and background sync files. When I am away and NOT connected by VPN, I want to access my files in Offline mode. When I cam connected by VPN, I won't be working on these files and I do not want Sync Center to run either an active or background sync.
Thank you for any thoughts.
