    Network problems since router upgrade

Have a computer running XP with a wired router and a computer with Windows seven with an adapter that had worked great until I decided to upgrade my DSL speeds and needed to buy new router.

Installation on XP went flawlessly and all was up and working. Had wireless connection on smart tv as well. The computer running Windows 7 did recognize the adapter but did not recognize ANY wireless network and would not let me open the Network Sharing page - gave me a "page failed to load" error message.

I can connect via ethernet wired connection with no problem and the Windows 7 "sees" my XP, router and DSL setup. But Network Sharing page still does not load.

    Help!!!

yes. When I disconnect the cable and try to configure the wireless connection by going to network sharing page, thats when I get the "page failed to load" message. If I go on to the other pages in the Network area, (can't remember exactly what they are called in Windows 7) I cannot see my xp computer or the router.

The only thing that immediately springs to mind is you may have a driver issue with the wireless driver in the computer that doesn't connect - have you checked this is at the latest level on the manufacturer's website or even uninstall and re-install the existing one. Also, if you cannot see the router when on wireless suggests the client is not getting an IP address from the router another pointer to a wireless card malfunction or need to be upgraded or reset.

Post back if this is of any help.

yes, but I don't believe this is the problem. I am thinking the problem lies in the windows 7 computer. The reason I say this is: when i go to start/control panel/Network Sharing - it will not load that page. It should show the page regardless of whether the computer is wired, wireless, etc. correct? If I can't see that page, I can't tell whether the computer "sees" my XP or router or ??? I'm thinking I need to get that page to load first.

So when you switched Routers you also switched the wireless adapter on that PC? When you did that, did you let windows install the drivers or did you use the setup on the CD that came with the adapter?
