When I press "Connect or Disconnect", it pops up an infobox saying "You are currently connected to: xnetwork"
However, there is no option to disconnect from the network. This is extremely frustrating; apparently I'm blind, but I've tried disabling and re-enabling the adapter to no avail.
Windows 7 x32, btw. (desktop, in my profile)

I donlt know what the deal with that bit of circular dialoggery is. It does seem pretty stupid. I jst figure I dont; get it either. Each dialog opens the other. What's the point?
I don't know, but I'm a bit annoyed not being able to connect to a network I want. =/
This is the first real problem I've had with Windows 7, and it just confuses the hell outa me.
So I was looking on my laptop (windows 7 x64), and when it pops up that tooltip, it shows other available networks; my desktop, however much I refresh, will not, and both are plugged into the same switch.
Right Click on the Taskbar Network Notification Icon, Select "Open Network......."
On the Lefthand section select "Change Adapter Settings" Right click on the Network you need to Disconnect.
I think thats the only way to Disconnect.
Yea but that just turns off the network adapter, like I said I did earlier. It doesn't get me out of the network
edit - ah, I figured it out. My laptop was seeing all the wireless networks, so it displayed multiple networks. Since my desktop was only connected to one (by LAN), it didn't display others, so wouldn't let me disconnect from it since it was my only option.

What do you mean by Getting out of the Network ?
When you Disconnect, your machine has No conenction with the particular Network. But It shows the Network in the list. That doesnt mean its connected.
When you disable the adapter, it keeps your computer from seeing any networks. However, when I re-enable it, Windows 7 automatically reconnects me to the network I was previously on.
If I want to disconnect from a network but keep my adapter on, I see no reason why I should not be allowed to do that <_<
If you click the network notification icon (taskbar) then click the network you are connected to, the display expands & you can select 'Disconnect'

Also, to stop 'Automatic' connection, when you follow the same process above to 'Disconnect' you can de-select 'Connect Automatically'. This will mean that you can connect when you want to not when Windows finds the network.
