Connected to Network but no internet stuck on identifying

So, I got the win7 anit-virus VIRUS, I removed it and had AVG and Comcast Constant Guard on. As soon as I removed AVG and Constant Guard I lost my internet connection.

I have two hard drives and my internet works on the one hard drive but not on the other. So no modem or router issues. Also noted, the Firewall is disabled and the system will not allow me to make any changes to the system. There are no virus' or malware on the machine. Something is wrong with my settings but for the life of me I cannot figure out what the issue is. I have tried make changes to the registry and services and to no avail. Trying to avoid having to backup and reinstall I have a lot of data and software that I can't risk losing.

    Welcome to Seven Forums Michael,

Two hard drives? Are you on Dual boot?
I have two hard drives and my internet works on the one hard drive but not on the other.
Is the issue wired or wireless connection? Have you tried both?

AV removed? You should install one back for protection.

Can you please provide an ipconfig /all output for review? Please see this Tutorial.

RIght now I'm trying to run a wireless connection but i intend On checking to see if I have the same issue with a wired connection. I don't think that I have a dual boot. I pick between one of two hard drives to run. Both are windows 7. Don't ask me why, I can't remember.

I tried following the tutorial on the ipconfig, and no luck. But I keep getting "media disconnected" on everything Link-Local Ipv6 Address fe80: : 310c :9834:c94d:be74%16
    autoconfiguration ipv4 address 169.254.190.120
    subnet mast 255.255.0.0.

Michael, I will need more information from you and more tasks for you to do.

Go here: Control Panel\System and Security. Se if your Windows Updates and Firewall are both enabled.

Check all your Network Services as well, see if they are all on Started mode including their Dependencies, check the Dependency Tab for that.
Click on start and type services.msc press enter. On Dependency Tab, check the Dependecies make sure that they are also Started.

    • COM+ Event System (for WZC issues)
    • Computer Browser
    • DHCP Client
    • DNS Client
    • Network Connections
    • Network Location Awareness
    • Remote Procedure Call (RPC)
    • Server
    • TCP/IP Netbios helper
    • WLAN AutoConfig (for Vista and Windows 7 only)
    • Workstation

    =====================
Try resetting both TCP/IP and Winsock:
Click on Start=> All Programs => Accessories and right click on Command Prompt, select "Run as Administrator" to open a command prompt.
Reset IPv4 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log press enter
Reset IPv6 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log press enter
Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalog press enter
    Restart the computer after.

An update of your progress will be nice.

So I went into services and everything seems on par with the expection of DHCP and Dns Client neither of which are or will start.

Windows could not start the dhcp client service on local compuer. Error 1075: The dependancy service does not exist or has been marked for deletion.

    Same for DNS Client

I have included all the screenshot that I think you might be interested in. I hope this helps. Much longer and I'm going to have to re-install windows which is not going to be any fun

Thanks for all your help btw

You may also try a Start up Repair first, it might do the trick, if not go for the Clean install. Another thing that you might want to consider doing is creating a backup image of your 2 HDDs. I use Driveimage XML, it's a Free tool.
