Gateway not available Win 7 problem

I need some serious help i downloaded directX10 specifically to play games like AoC (conan) once playing i noticed my comp was easily able to handle the game but would get random crashes....so eventually i figured it was a vista issue which it was so i downloaded win7 and everything works fine graphic wise(i just sorta put this in to let people know i have absolutely no Tech experience at ALL im completely tech illiterate so when describing what to do act like your talking to a trained chimp, cause i can do what u tell me, if u make it simple and easy to follow and dont take for granted that i know something) ok no to the actual issue recently my internet seems to stall and crash ill be watching something on youtube or playing world of warcraft or AoC or something and all of a sudden my internet disconects or my network or something so i stop whatever it is im doing and go to my web browser which thinks for a second then brings up an error message and a little button that says diagnose problem which i hit then it gos thru a bunch of options looking for whats wrong things like network settings and this and that and it ends up with a box that says and i quote"The default Gateway is not available"then next to that it says fixed and my internet is restored.....unless i watch a video or start playing a game...ive tride to reset my cable modem like my internet provider comcast suggested (which didn't help) and someone else said it might be my ip address but from looking around it seems it might be a bit more complicated.........id be happy to put my system specs in here or email them to whoever.......if you could tell me how to get them.....like i said trained chimp.....anywho id really appreciate any help anyone can provide thanks!!!!!

Hi and welcome to Windows Seven Forums! Yes, we need to know about your computer, so click the "Start Button" and type: msinfo32 and press ENTER.

The new window will have a lot of information, but what we will need has been outlined in your "Control Panel" ie: "UserCP" in your "Edit System Specs" page. Just put in there what you can find.

Just a thought, as I struggled with my cable company for months with connection dropouts until they replaced a line filter out on their pole, have you called your cable company and asked them to test your line while you are playing your game? I assume you have your computer connected directly to the cable modem?

My cable provider wouldn't believe me either. Fortunately, I had this little free utility installed: SiteUp, Web Site Availability Monitoring Software that saved a printable record of every minute I was bumped off my cable connection. They couldn't ignore the record, and it led to getting the line filter replaced and me a refund. I suggest you download the utility, install it and run it for a week and try to get your connection to drop as much as possible. Then go back and look at the logs and see if the problem is with the cable connection?
