Windows 7 X64
No network connections after failed firewall installation

was trying to install Privatefirewall which got stuck and had to restart the computer, did an uninstall and then another reboot when i realized my network icon is task bar has a red X on it.
i can see all the connections including my LAN in my network connections window but the windows keeps saying i have no active connections and therefore no access to even local network.
i can see the properties windows and make modifications but the connection status windows which contains ip address,mac,gateway... is blank.

so far have tried:
-registering netman.dll and 2 other dll's related to networking services
-the network connections service is set to manual and running fine
-sfc /scannow
-re installed privatefirewall to see if somehow that might fix it, it didn't so uninstalled again
-netsh int ip reset

my guess is that the oS somehow can communicate with the network adapters since they are there and active but dunno how to fix it.
