Wired Network Problem - local only, everything else works?
I am having a problem getting wired network connectivity on a new Lenovo PC with Windows 7 professional.
Here is the problem: when I connect the user's home network, the network will search, eventually will connect locally but not to the internet. I have no internet access. It is connected directly to a modem. I've tried power cycling the modem, power cycling the PC, recycling the network connection, using the Windows troubleshooter, and none of it works. Here is where it gets weird. I know the onboard LAN card works because not only does it pick up local connection, but also full network connection when I bring the PC to my house and use my internet connection. It also works fully when I plug the network into a different PC.
In addition, I updated the network drivers to the most recent version. Is this a DNS problem? Unfortunately at this time I am at my home with the PC, and it is working (I am on it now), but I am hoping that when I return the PC it is working again.
