Third party UPNP servers not working on Windows 7
I have 2 windows 7 computers, 1 connected via ethernet and another via wifi. I'm trying to access media from my computers via upnp from my ps3 and xbmc on another machine. The problem I'm having is, all devices are only able to detect the built-in windows upnp servers but not any other third party upnp servers. The reason I want to use third party software such as ps3 media server, tversity or twonky is better support for more formats.
I can only detect the servers from the computer that the server is running. Eg, with a third-party server running on my dektop, WMP and XBMC running on that desktop would detect the server while the other computer and devices would not. I've tried this on 2 computers with the few upnp software mentioned above. However, all devices including the Windows computers are able to detect the UPNP server of the XBMC machine which leads me to believe that a firewall or something else in the windows machines are blocking all other upnp traffic out of the computer except its own.
