Basically, I run a self built computer that uses Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit OS. My homegroup settings have been failing recently (ie, the laptop can't print to the homegroup I've created through my desktop, although my desktop can access files and see the laptop just fine). I believe I've narrowed it down to the fact that my network discovery setting, when I press the bubble to turn it on and click save changes, automatically shuts itself off again. From looking into issues with that, I've found that certain services have to be running for it to work, one of them being the DNS service. When I try to start it, I get the message, "Windows could not start the DNS Client service on Local Computer.
Error 3: The system cannot find the path specified."
I'm fairly tech savvy on most aspects of computers, however networking isn't one of them. Any help would be appreciated! Also, this computer is wirelessly hooked up to my router.
