Explorer.exe crashes when accessing network drive

I have been having this problem for weeks now with Windows 7. For the background I am running 64-bit Windows 7 RTC.

I have VPN to my company's network using microsoft's vpn method. Everytime I try to access a remote drive/directory over the vpn, explorer.exe crashes. Here is the event information:
