I wonder what - if any - the info in post 19 plays in all of this. Could it be that there is a disagreement between the Euro firmware and the US drivers? Also, what is the router make/model? Is it type N?

The issue is not with the router, but with the wireless driver for the laptop. That's the "broken" thing.
Sometimes the wireless it's on, sometimes not, and it DOES see the router's connection (and others), I can connect to it and browse, but after a few minutes it turns off (the wireless).

On the preinstalled Windows the wireless was running fine, no issues at all, but now that I made a clean install with the drivers from the eMachines website it has the issue of not always being on.

I'm sorry - I'm involved in 3 threads about wireless connections dropping out and I got you mixed up with another person in another thread. I posted that reminder about post #19 under the assumption that you lived in the United States.

I'm out of ideas to try for your situation. I do not know how to find the drivers that you had in the pre-installed OS. It might be simpler to buy a new WiFi card.

...and my final idea was to try the forums over at hp, give them the info
WLAN: Broadcom BCM94313HMG2L

and hope someone that has been there awhile will recognize a model it's associated with.
It shouldn't be a needle in a haystack thing it was used in a fair number of them from what I read.

Update: I finally solved the issue!

I got a software that checks for drivers online and, even though the eMachines said I had the latest driver, the software downloaded another one which solved my wireless connectivity issue.

Thank you all for your help!

You know for some reason it never occurred to me to try one of those apps for you, and this was the perfect situation for it.

Anyhow glad you are sorted and thanks for reporting back with the 'fix'

Wireless Network Missing

I have two PCs sitting side by side. They are both served by the same Linksys wireless router. One has a Linksys internal wireless adapter that does not recognize the wireless signal that the PC next to it is now receiving. Both PCs got the signal last week and worked fine before I installed windows 7 to the one that now cannot recognize my wireless network signal. That PC shows two old wireless network names that no longer exist, but it does not show the new wireless network. I have tried to go through the Control Panel to > Network and Internet to create the new Network name or get the adapter to sense the new network. But, no luck.

What am I doing wrong? My Windows 7 install seems to have creamed my wireless network setup on the PC that will not now pick up the wireless signal.

Thanks for any advice.

Pal this thread is marked "solved" maybe it's best that you start a new thread stating your problem. Might be an idea to fill in your system spec in full and also give the make/model of the wireless adapter that's giving you problems
