Reduced network connectivity after resizing partitions

Hi i am in a deadlock

I shrunk my boot partition and extended my data partition with gparted.
Then at boot time windows started checkdisk and repaired a lot of errors (ie all the errors it found). So far so good.
The problem now is that I can only reach one internet site namely my internet bank.
I can ping a few URLs.
I tried sfc /scannow. That found a lot of bad filess but could not connect to Microsoft and fetch new files.I used the Avast rescue disk and tried sfc /scannow and sfc /verifyonly but only got the message that sfc was waiting to finish a repair. The windows 7 install disk-repair offered even less help.
(I am writing this on another laptop)

Hope that some clever guy has some clever advice for me.

You should try running this file which will reset the TCP/IP stack, reset win sock and also release renew your IP. Be sure and reboot your machine if you aren't prompted to do so. :)

    Hi chev 65
Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately I didn't see it until a some days later, and then I had already restored the laptop from the recovery image.
I have saved the batch file.
Thanks again and have a nice weekend
