Internet sharing a Verizon Wireless USB modem and an Ethernet network

We have three 64 bit Window 7 machines on an Ethernet wireless/wired router (ASUS WL-520GC). Worked great… one of the three computers hosts a USB printer and shares with no problems (via a HomeGroup).

We had a broadband power line modem on the same Ethernet network connection and all three computers had sharing of the WAN internet… then we lost our internet connection capability when our supplier went bust!

We are now using a Verizon Wireless USB 720 broadband modem on the same computer that hosts the printer. That computer has internet connection and works fine. We cannot get the remaining two computers to see the internet.

Bridging the Verizon USB “Home” network and the Ethernet “Public” network doesn’t seem to work because we can’t set the local area network to “Home.”

    Any suggestions?

If I was going to use a Verizon USB modem on a network, I would use a router that you plug the modem into. Check out http://www.cradlepoint.com/ or do a Google search. I remember seeing routers for USB modems (cell service) for as low as $35, but most users recommend Cradlepoint routers.

If you are still on the Verizon 30 trial, you should check out http://www.millenicom.com/, Millenicom has no contract and much higher usage caps, even unlimited using Verizon and Sprint service.
