    internet help


    hello once again
    i am using a wired broadband connection i have some problems with it
    problem is speed, i have subscribed for 1mbps plan but i get download speed only upto 120kbps i saw the speed in the network monitor the speed am getting shows 1 or more than 1 mbps but in the usage section it maximum goes only upto 10% so is there anything that can be done
    well i am talking about India we do't get that kind of great max upto 5mbps i have done speed test through speedtest.net it shows my downloading speed upto 1.2mbps but i never get that much

    only thing you can do is contact your internet service provider and they should run some test to see if there's a fault

    they say remaining is my modem usage but i don't trust them as sometimes i have seen my speed going upto 1.5mbps

    @Rahul You are signed up to a 1 Megabit per second service.
    Your download speeds are measured in bytes.
    There are 8 Bits to a byte.
    A 1Mbps line usually results in 120kB/s downloads. You're getting what you're supposed to get.

    I am subscribed to 512kbps and i get 60-64kB/sec download speed.

    Yes i actually get that 1.5 mbps whenever i get that kinda speed my movies get downloaded in half an hour to 15 minutes once i got speed near about 1mbps constantly that time i downloaded call of duty modern warfare 3 in just 3 hours
    my isp is wi5 broadband

    Never heard of wi5 broadband.Anyway if that's the case you better contact your ISP and tell them you are getting variations in download/upload speeds.

    wi5 broadband is new in the business and only available in some southern state
