    Cannot Access Internet

I just recently made the switch from XP to 7. Windows 7 had been great except I can't seem to connect to the internet. Before when I was on XP, it was working perfectly. I switched to Windows 7 once and had the same problem then immediately switched back to XP to see if it was indeed my modem/router/ethernet cable. It worked fine once again. I decided to again, switch back to Windows 7 and the internet still ceases to work. It says my ethernet cable is unplugged when it really isn't. I can't seem to find a fix =\.

I ran driver robot on it then exported the results to my external. I switched back to xp (I was having a problem with my laptop that I'm currently on) and downloaded all of the recommended drivers exported them to my external again and installed them onto w7. My sound works now, but no internet.

Thats the problem with all the driver buddy programs. They are making choices for you in terms of what drivers, and my not even have an up to date driver database.

If you un-install you nic/wifi and let win 7 re-install it for you you should be OK

Don't I need internet access for 7 to obtain the driver?

Absolutely not. I would use the method you are employing to post on the forum.

Then, I would copy the driver to a storage device.

I tried this earlier but I couldn't find the network driver. Then again, I didn't know what network adapter I had. I'll go check right now.
