Connect Kindle to USB Wireless AirCard slash Modem
When I'm away from home I use Verizon Wireless VZ Access Manager and a Verizon USB 720 modem to connect my PC to the internet. I just got a Kindle (the really cheap one) and wanted to have the Kindle connect to the internet through my PC when I'm using my Verizon Wireless internet connection. (I can get free books through my local public library and many of them are available only if the Kindle connects directly to the internet.)
I tried and tried to change every network setting that I thought might work but all to no avail. Finally, I discovered the (free) virtualrouter.com and I was done five minutes later.
I hope virtualrouter.com has no bad effects, but I'll take my chances. A note to the developers at virtualrouter.com: I'm going to give it a week or two and if everything is still okay I will be making a voluntary contribution for your help.
I hope this helps someone else.
P.S. Kindle users check with your local public library for free books to "borrow" electronically. They do expire after a bit, but so what?
