Read those threads. While it can be a hair pulling experience, you can get it to work.

Now, W7 to W7 = home networking bliss.

The real question is, for me atleast... Does this work for XP SP3? anyone tested? I read where there where problems as this was released for SP2 and supposed to be included in SP3, but have read it wasnt included. Also that it wont allow this to be installed on an SP3 machine...

Short answer: Yes, it does work on SP3
Using LLTD protocol on XP requires at least SP2. It is not part of XP SP3 as some might have thought, though it's part of Windows Update upon installation of SP3 and yes, there were reported problems with LLTD on SP3. There's an easy fix to have it up and running and is quite easy to do. Please let me know if you need assistance on this matter

    No Problem

With all of us anticipating Windows 7 RC and RTM, I doubt we'll have time to play around with XP

    Hi NosferatuX,
You seem to have the answer with: “There's an easy fix to have it up and running and is quite easy to do”
The network map of the computer running Windows7 does not show a graphical view of the computers running windows XP. Installation of the LLTD responder (WindowsXP-KB922120-v5-x86) on computers running Windows XP does not help.
I get the message:” Setup has detected that the Service Pack version of the system is newer than the update you are applying. There is no need to install this update.” But how can I make visible the windowsXP computer?

Could you please tell me more about the easy fix?
    Thanks in advance

In case others are also looking, I finally found the solution myself.

Need to install TC/IP v6. Click Control Panel/Network and Internet/Network connections , choose properties of Local Area Connection and x Internet Protocol version 6 (if not there install it.)
