Ethernet adapter Bluetooth Connection 2: Media disconnected

    Good day Guys,

I am owning an ASUS K55V laptop bought 2 years ago and occassionally have some problems with my ethernet-bluetooth bundle in the past but solved them with system restore and it worked.

The problem now was after hibernating my laptop today and opening it again, it failed to restore several times and I DUMPED MY RESTORE DATA and proceeded to full startup.

When everything has settled, I noticed that my ethernet-bluetooth bundle is not working (i.e. the ethernet cable cannot be detected) but my wireless networks are working. I tried sytem restore several times and it does not help this time. In summary here are the combo of problems:

1.) Atheros Ethernet software cannot be found in device manager
2.) Blutooth Peripheral Driver is not installed (the common windows 7 bluetooth peripheral problem)
3.) I typed ipconfig in the command prompt and here is the input:

    Ethernet Adapter Bluetooth Conneciton 2:

    Media State..............................:Media Disconnected
    Connection-Specific DNS Suffix...:

Hope to hear from anyone and advance thanks for the help.

    Regards,

The "Media Disconnected" usually means it is Disabled or the Device/Driver was not started up. Try re-installing the Driver, which should be in Windows Update by default if not, then I am not to sure, I need more information before I can actually tell you things that may help.

I need to know when the last time this was working (specifically), when it stopped working, if it stopped working if there was anything connected in the port, and lastly how often do you put the laptop in "Hibernation Mode?"

    Hi the human slayer,

Actually what happened now is that I shut my laptop off for 10 mins. and after restarting it worked properly. I have read this from other forums and at first I didn't believe that it would work but it really works (I don't know why).

But to give you some additional information for reference here is the detailed chronology of events:

1.) Sept. 9, 2014, 7am : Successful start up from hibernation since Sept. 8. Many programs were left open before hibernation again at 7:10am

2.) Sept. 9, 2014, 5pm: Restore data cannot be retrieved. Started Windows while dumping failed restore data. ethernet-bluetooth bundle not working at operation (the posted problem). Posted this problem to forums. via wifi from phone hotspot. Tried to search the internet and tried re-installing the drives. Nothing worked.

3.) Sept. 9, 2014, 9pm: nearly gave up hope and made a reseted. Shut of the computer for ~10-20 mins. and rebooted. ethernet-bluetooth bundle working fine.

Well I think this problem is solved for now. I really appreciated the help and reply sir/mam. for my first post. I might even recommend the waiting solution as a FIRST SOLUTION to everyone. This is because you just really need to wait and need not to put an effort in reinstalling stuff before you are fed up and realize you just have to wait :). Patience is a virtue I guess.

Well again thanks and will stay connected with the threads.

    Regards,
