Unidentified Network when setting IP address to static - solution!

If you want to assign static IP addresses, you should turn off the DHCP of your router, then assign the proper IPs, Subnet Masks, Default Gateway, etc. to all your computers.

DHCP is already disabled apparently. I get "warning - the default gateway is not on the same network segment (subnet) that is defined by the IP address and subnet mask. Do you want to save this configuration?" whenever I attempt to change the default gateway.

I am attempting to put in as follows:
IP: 192.174.234.196
Subnet mask (automatically obtained): 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 132.251.129.152

The Default Gateway must be on the same network as your computer's IP. So the Default Gateway in your case must start with 192.174.234 (instead of 132.251.129). Although not necessary, common convention is to asign the first host address to the gateway, in your case 192.174.234.1

warning - multiple default gateways are intended to provide redundancy to a single network (such as the intranet or the Internet). They will not function properly when the gateways are on two separate, disjoint networks (such as one on your intranet and one on the Internet). Do you want to save this configuration?
