Windows 7: Cant use an Ad Hoc network when an internet connection is being shared

I have having a random problem with my computer (it's an Acer laptop) in regards to sharing internet connections. I have never had a problem with creating or connecting to an Ad Hoc network when the internet connection was being shared but after I had made an update to the graphics card (and possibly another update was carried through at the same time, i'm not entirely sure) i haven't been able to do it.

I can't select the option to share the internet connection when i'm setting up the network like i have always been able to do and when i try to connect to a network which is sharing it's internet connection, i get an error in regards to the adapter not working correctly but when a network from the same computer is made without an internet connection i can connect just fine and i don't understand what the problem is.

I don't know if this is relevant or not but i also bought a bluetooth usb stick so that i can use my wireless headphones with my laptop and it does have wireless networking options but i disabled them when i was trying to solve the problem.

My wireless adapter is an Atheros AR5B97 Wireless Network Adapter.

Welcome to the Seven Forums. Sorry that no one has been able to respond. I do not have a way to test what you are setting up - but could you please ensure that the Internet Connection Sharing Service is running?

Right click on Computer and select Manage.



Once the window comes up, drill down to the services.

Having the same problem but My ICS is already starting.i wish i can share my internet again
