| | DNS server priority HI everyone, i have a question, if windows is configured with an ipv6 address , ipv4 address, ipv6 dns server address, and ipv4 dns address, to which will it first query the name resolution request ? the ipv6 dns server or ipv4 dns server thanks |

| | Hello, I believe it will query the IPv6 address first as it is a later protocol... not 100% on this though. If it is been assigned by DHCP then its more than likely that the IPv4 and IPv6 address is for the same device anyway. Dave |

It's still used internally for certain networking functions in Windows at this point. The preferred DNS for IPv4 would be the first one on the list of two DNS servers.
