Issues within print management, Windows 2008 Server, Windows 7 PC OS

Issue:
Unable to print to printer S8-Colour

Printer Details:
Make/Model: HP LaserJet 2600N
IP: 172.16.2.41
Location: S8 (Right of the door)
Driver Version: 60.63.461.42
Computer OS: Windows 7
Server: Windows 2008

Further Details: The printer in S8 is unable to print from any machine; prints are just getting stuck in the print spooler. We have tried deleting the prints but the top print in the queue has got stuck stating: “Deleting – Printing”

We are able to ping the IP address;
Ping statistics for 172.16.2.41:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 4ms, Average = 1ms

Attempts to fix:
As the print is stuck on deleting we have tried;

• Stopping and Starting the print spooler (Computer Management > Services and Applications > Services >Right clicking Print Spooler and selecting stop/Start)

• Restarting the print spooler (Computer Management > Services and Applications > Services >Right clicking Print Spooler and selecting restart)

• Attempting the above while the printer was off

• Turning the printer off and on

• Swapped the printer on two occasions

• Swapped the cable to different network ports.

More information:
After the above attempts seeing that the printer is still showing the job status as “Deleting – Printing”, this indicates that the issue is not with the printer itself but on the network side.

Attempts to fix.2:

• Deleting the printer itself from Print Management (Nothing happened at this point)

• Stopping the print spooler and attempting to delete the printer (Prompted to start the
spooler)
• Stopping and starting the print spooler using command prompt

Next steps:
I have looked online for ways of deleting the printer but the only way I can find is in the registry, the result of this would affect all printers on the network which isn’t an option.
