    Homegroup is not streaming content.

I have a small home group consisting of a media centre PC and a laptop.

I've set-up the home group and the computers can see each other. I have set both to stream content and set the defaults to "pictures unrated" only, but the pictures on my Laptop are not streaming the the Media Centre.

They didn't stream with the default sharing setting s either.

From the Media Centre, I can navigate to the Laptop, but cannot open the pictures library.

    What am I doing wrong?

So we can assume that both machines are Windows 7 machines?

It should help to go through this Homegroup sharing tutorial and make sure the shared folders are set to share with the Homegroup with read/write permissions. It's important to note that which ever A/V or third party firewall you are running can cause problems with sharing.

Yes, you can assume they are both Win7.

Thanks for the reply and tut by the way.

I'm selecting read/write but the default "nobody" setting is not changing. What am I doing wrong?

Step 4 shows that you need to put check marks on the folders that can be shared.

I'm not sure what you mean by "pictures unrated only"? Are you certain that both machines are a part of the same Homegroup?

Did you use the original Homegroup password for the second machine to join?

Other than that I can't imagine why the nobody setting isn't changing.

I left the homegroup with both PCs and set it up again so as to make sure it's the same homegroup - I used the generated password.

Still nothing is streaming. I can navigate the the content on both machines so that part of it is fine, however, whichever method I use to share with homegroup, whether right click or from explorer, "Nobody" remains the selection.

    I just don't get it.
