    Local area connection icon missing

So about right now I feel like throwing this rig off a bridge.

I am simply trying to find my missing icon for the local area connection that goes to my Mb Ethernet .
I need to change the ip. It was around before but has gone missing.

I was trying to link up a network computer before and it all went down hill.

This is a fresh build, windows is no help
    Thanks

    Welcome to the Seven Forums.

You mean it is missing in the Notification Area. I am sure that you have already checked that it is not amongst the hidden Icons.

Go to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Network and Sharing Center and click on Change Adapter Settings on the Left Pane. You shall find it there.

I did and it is not there,
    Is there another hiding place?

I also disabled and enabled in the device list but still no show

OK. Perhaps you need to check and edit the Group Policy. Please try as follows.

    01. Open Start > Run > gpedit.msc > under 'User Configuration' > Adminisrative
Templates > Start Menu And Taskbar > Now to the Right Pane

    02. Find the "Remove the Netwroking Icon" on the Right Pane.

    03. Double Click on it > Disalbed > Apply > Not Configured > Apply > OK (final choice is Not Configured via the Disabled route)

    04. Log Off and Log In

    05. Then Right Click on task-bar > Properties > Notification Area > Check 'Network' > Apply > OK

Have you got the Icon back?

    I have a network icon

I am missing the network adaptor icon in the change adapter settings location.

Is there another way to find this. I have an ip conflict but cannot find it to change it.
