Network card missing from Device Manager & Network Connections
I'm just having this weird issue right now: one of my 2 network cards is missing from both the Device Manager & Network Connections. Also, from Task Manager. First it showed the network cable is disconnected so I tried re-enabling the connection a few times without luck so I decided to restart the system. Since it was raining I thought it was somehow related since I do get disconnected while raining sometimes.. After that, the network card was missing & Windows keeps warning me it has only 3 days left for activation. Now I switched to the other card and changed the MAC address so that I can get back online. I tried using a Knoppix disc and I didn't manage to see the device but since I'm not too good with Linux I might be wrong. I also unplugged the power a few minutes without luck. Any ideas? It kinda seams like a hardware issue to me.
LE: If this is a hardware issue, how come only the network card has problems and not the whole motherboard? Also, since everything works just fine now (except the missing card of course), is it safe to keep the system like this? Or should I change the motherboard as soon as possible?
My motherboard is ASUS Striker II Formula. Also, both LAN cards appear in BIOS as enabled & functional.
